CHANEL will hold an exhibition “MIROIRS – Manga meets CHANEL / Collaboration with Kaiu Shirai & Posuka Demizu” at CHANEL NEXUS HALL in collaboration with Kaiu Shirai, the author of “The Promised Neverland” and Posuka Demizu, the artist. The exhibition will be held at CHANEL NEXUS HALL. The exhibition will run from April 28 to June 6. A display commemorating the exhibition will be displayed in the show window of CHANEL Ginza Boutique on the Maronie Street side from April 26 to June 5.
The exhibition expresses the world of “miroirs,” a manga by Shirai and Demizu featuring Gabrielle Chanel. The theme of the exhibition is “MIROIRS,” and three spaces will be prepared in accordance with the three chapters of the manga, introducing the message of the work and materials related to Chanel. The exhibition is scheduled to travel to the KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival.
Miroirs is a collection of short stories by Shirai and Demizu that touches on the life and philosophy of Gabrielle Chanel. The work is named after Chanel’s multifaceted nature, which is represented by a number of mirrors, and the numerous mirrors in her apartment, and features three people who embody Gabrielle Chanel’s philosophy and passion. The book is priced at 977 yen including tax, and will be released by Shueisha on April 30.
